Prof. Amadori is the previous Director of the Division of Hematology at the Tor Vergata University Hospital in Rome from 2005 to 2016.
He gained his medical degree at the University of Rome Sapienza in 1971. After completing his specialization program in Hematology at the University of Rome Sapienza in 1974, he also specialized in Pediatrics at the University of Florence by 1983. Prof. Amadori is former associate professor of hematology at the University of Rome Sapienza. In 1990, he became a professor of hematology at the University of Rome Sapienza, then in 1994, at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
He has published over 300 articles in peer-reviewed international journals, focusing on the diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic aspects of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
Prof. Amadori is the chair of the EORTC Leukemia Goup from 2003 to 2005, president of the Italian Society of Hematology from 2004 to 2009, president of the GIMEMA Foundation and Chair of the GIMEMA Acute Leukemia Working party, active member of numerous Scientific Societies, including: the Italian Society of Hematology (SIE), the Italian Society of Experimental Hematology (SIES), the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
